Embracing the Lifestyle

"I'm going out tonight-I'm feelin' alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise-really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout
No inhibitions-make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain't gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time
The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun and...
Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy-forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts-short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild-yeah, doin' it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action-feel the attraction
Color my hair-do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free-yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!"
– Man, I Feel Like a Woman (Shania Twain)

After I took a bite of the apple at the desert swing resort, I thought I would feel guilty. Rather, I felt invigorated and alive. As I sorted through my emotions and feelings, I was amazed by this new experience and how it changed me.
First, I felt an overwhelming sense of love for my husband. This seemed a curious paradox, as I thought I would feel guilty as if I was cheating. But my husband was there, he was willing, and even a participant and enabler in giving me the freedom to have this experience. I felt very comfortable as he wasn’t jealous, but aroused by what had happened (he was as excited as I was!). And I got turned on as well when watching him flirt with other women!

As we started exploring this new lifestyle (with so much to learn!), we had so much to talk about. For the first time in our relationship, we truly became best friends (who else could I talk with about all these experiences?). We supported each other, not only by being available to help “rescue” the other from an uncomfortable situation, but also by flirting in hopes of getting to know other potential play partners. It is truly a team effort since both members of another couple must be attracted to both of you for anything to happen.

Since I was embracing the lifestyle (what little I knew about it at the time…it was more being willing to be sexually adventurous at this point), my husband asked if I wanted to go to a convention—“3000 of our closest new friends,” he said, sponsored by the Lifestyles.org at the Stardust in Las Vegas. I thought it would be fun to dress up and dance sexy…and was intrigued with what new adventures may await us in the future.
